Visa fees have to be paid by Demand Draft at the time of submission of the visa application. The Demand Draft should be in the name of the "Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Chennai", has to be payable in Chennai and must not be older than 2 months. The German Consulate General accepts Demand Drafts issued by the following banks
"Visa Extern" is a new web-based application that allows you to fill in your Schengen Visa Application Form online via the Internet. At the end of the data entry process you will be able to print out the Schengen Visa Application Form. Please read and sign it carefully. In addition you will receive a 2D Barcode Page. The Barcode contains all your personal data which will be processed by the German Consulate General.
Since the beginning of the year 2006 the German Consulate General is required to integrate passport pictures according to biometric specifications into German visa. It is, therefore, mandatory for each applicant to provide such photos together with his/her application documents.
According to biometric specifications the photo needs to display a full frontal view of the face. The size of the face from the bottom of your chin to the hairline must be between 28 mm and 35 mm. Please do NOT ask your photographer to enlarge, stretch or widen your face digitally to make it fit the above mentioned size requirements. All face sizes in-between the above mentioned size limits are fine. Variations in face sizes are acceptable for children under 10 years of age.
Travel Agents, who wish to submit Visa Applications on behalf of their clients, are kindly requested to provide application forms duly filled and signed by the applicant as usual. The staff of the German Visa Application Centers will take care of the data entry for you.
